2013! :)

Image
Yeah, the last post of this year. :-D Bye bye 2012! :-D :-D Amazing year, wasn't it? So many memories it has left behind for us. Some sad ones and some happy ones and some very happy ones. :-P I have this habit, a silly one, most of you would relate easily to this. On the last day of every year, I sit and ponder over all those things which have made a significant mark in that year, also some insignificant ones too. You know, like rewind in a flash. And evaluate on certain parameters how the year has treated me and how I've treated certain things and people. Following that, I make some plans for the coming year. Say, I'll try to be a less talkative. Try. Like that is ever going to happen. I can never shut my mouth close. See the point is once I get started, it only hurts to stop talking. In school, I used to get this constant remark from my teachers that I am wayyy too talkative. Okay, wait. There I'm blabbering. :-P Lets get this straight. This is year has made m...

Survival post

21-12-2012. Oh wait. Didn't just the world end or am I blogging straight from H ell? :- P  Many have said that this date would mark the end of our planet and everything living in it. But hello! I have survived and so did you. The entire human race has survived. And what has happened to this Earth? Absolutely nothing. It is like someone has played a prank to fool this whole world and well, it seems that they have succeeded in their plan. Not all the 7 billion+, but there is major sect who actually believed that there wasn't going to be a tomorrow. And the question of from where did this all start, goes back to one of the earliest civilizations in the history. There was this calender. A Mayan calender, which said that today, right on the 21st of December 2012, some  cataclysmic events would occur that would end the 5125 year long cycle according to the Mayans. On what basis did they arrive at this conclusion is still a mystery to me. Why do I care? Because I don't wa...

Why 'Carpe diem'?

Image
Many people asked me this question. Why 'Carpe diem' and what is its meaning? The phrase Carpe diem is Latin for 'seize the day'. And there's a reason why I chose this particular phrase as my blog title. Have you ever heard about the movie 'Dead Poets Society'?  Sometime back in 2011, one day I happened to watch to this beautiful movie, Dead Poets Society. There it struck me, 'Carpe diem'. Released in 1989, this classic is the story of an English teacher who inspired his students to seize the day. The plot of this movie is simple conveying a strong message of living today to the fullest. Two youngsters, Neil Perry and Todd Anderson, join the prestigious institution, Welton Academy and discover their passion for acting and writing eventually. But their parents have different plans for them. Neil's parents want him to become a doctor and Todd's want to see him as a lawyer. Their new English teacher, John Keating, teaches...

Photography, more than just a hobby.

This one goes for all those who love photography.  When I was little kid I never understood how amazing a camera is. For me it always was a magic black box that gives out a lightening kind of effect when there’s a wide grin on your face and ta-da, there comes out your picture. Innocence, childhood. Then I grew up admiring the creative work of the people who portrayed the world through their third eye, the camera. The first one, whom I know very well is my mother. She managed to preserve all those amazing childhood memories of mine in the form of pictures. And I must say, she is very good at photography. See, I told you these cameras are magical. They can capture anything and everything. :D Time moved faster, world has changed so much, also the technology improved. For instance, the good old Polaroid is replaced with the new age Digital cameras, the work on developing the long photo film has shifted its concentration to adding the final touches on Photoshop, lighting, focus,...

New beginning!

Finally! I've finished my Intermediate successfully and landed up in St. Francis again. Yeah, again. I was in Francis all my life, right from my Kindergarten to High School in St. Francis Girls High School and then Intermediate in St. Francis Junior College. You see, I'm a loyal kid, and Francis is a great place to be in! :-D And now I chose St. Francis again for my Graduation. I never had any confusion about it, listing down the colleges where I'd want to join, doing the research work and stuff, no, never done that. It was crystal clear. St. Francis it is. Meanwhile, in that little gap between the 12th grade Boards and the results, all my friends and the people in 12th went through these hectic coaching classes for their competitive exams. Science, Arts, Commerce, any subject, every subject, some or the other exam was waiting for them. 12th grade right, quite an important one. The one which will decide one's career. Morning to evening classes, weekly mock tests,...

The first post. :)

Yes! My blog! :D I knew someday I'd start a blog, but on this the day, that wasn't planned. :P Who knew it would hit me when I'm all busy studying the wealth definition of Economics by Adam Smith? :D Crazy I am!  So what do I start this very precious blog of mine with? First of all tell me, why do people blog?? Huh? I'll tell you. Blogging lets people interact, express their feelings and thoughts. It's now an easy way to connect with the people around the world who share the same ideas, tastes, interests in various aspects(Strictly my opinion).  And now I chose to tell the tales of my life, the tales of an ordinary girl who is trying to tell them in an extraordinary way! :P So I'm writing about 'writing'....... Well I ain't any genius in Literature or something to talk about "Writing and its significance". Neither I'm able to track down the history of writing during some B.C. period nor I'm this English teacher to teach...
